The Master Sommelier Theory Exam is a verbal assessment that challenges candidates to demonstrate their extensive knowledge of global wine regions, viticulture, vinification, and the broader beverage industry. Passing requires a 75 percent score.
The Master Sommelier Practical Exam assesses candidates on their mastery of skills in sparkling wine service, decanting, and the business acumen required for leadership roles in the sommelier profession. Passing requires a 75 percent score.
The Master Sommelier Tasting Exam challenges candidates to verbally identify and evaluate a diverse selection of six wines, showcasing their mastery of sensory analysis and deductive tasting abilities. Passing requires a 75 percent score.
